Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner....

....that I love London town!

It would seem that mum and her London lingo is confusing all my doggy pals from far, far away. When mum first started talking to her dear friend Gene many years ago he too had lots of problems understanding what she was going on about! My mum used to think it was amusing and they spent many an hour on MSN laughing and explaining to each other what certain words or sayings meant. Gene really thought it was very English and mum thought Gene was very American.

Gene always said he was going to write a book about my mum as she always had a story to tell him.....she said thank heavens he never has.

Or was he just telling her that?

My mom just added Gene to her list of blogs. She just loves New York, even though she's always lived on the west coast.

do you mean your mom has cockney slang? i'm staying in malaysia but mom likes listening to BBC radio 1 especially chris moyles shows every afternoon (that would be morning for you) over the internet radio. sometimes she gets it sometime doesn't. afterall, her english standard isn't really as good as mine! LOL

My mom enjoys hearing your slang and learning new words. Now she's going to use "sarnie and crisps" instead of "sandwich and chips". Whatever, as long as I get some handouts, they all mean the same to me!

You can use your funny words, but sometimes they make me giggle :)

Mum says she does have Cockney rhyming slang boo! She isn't a true Cockney as she wasn't born within the sounds of Bow bells though but was born about 4 miles from the church with the bells.
