There's another dog in the house!!!!!!!

Meet the lodger!

Mum and dad offered to dogsit Bailey for just over a week while his family went on holiday. Baileys mum packed his bag for him and he arrived on Friday evening with everything he could possibly need for his stay....this included a towel, 2 collars and leads, his food and water bowls, several toys, his bed, 2 blankets, his wet weather coat, his stinky food and loads of biscuits! Anyone would think he was coming to stay forever!!!

When he first arrived me and Bailey chased each other round and round the house like a pair of loonies. We thought we were still up the park and had all that empty space. Wrong! It's a bit chaotic when you have stuff like furniture in your way. Mum thought it was highly amusing to watch us both. The photo above is from Friday night with us both play fighting each other. No one thought we were ever going to settle down and would be like it all night. I don't think they would have been pleased if we had done that do you!

Well, I'm worn out and I went and sat on the sofa in the hope Bailey would let me have a nap......he took no notice and wouldn't leave me alone! Goodness that dogs got some stamina. Bailey has slept on mum and dads bed, on the sons bed too, slept on the sofas and eaten chicken nearly every day with me. When he goes home I think he will miss me....I think I might just miss him too.

It's been really nice having Bailey stay as a house guest but I won't miss his bottom burps.....he stinks!

Where does the time fly to?

I didn't realise how long it's been since my mum last wrote in here.....it's been ages and ages. I've not been too well either this last couple of weeks. I have been proper poorly but I think I'm OK now though!

Mum thought I had a grass seed in my ear. I was shaking my head, scratching and just generally rubbing my ears along anything and in fact I was getting in quite a mess about it all. So off we went to see Julius at the vets.

Julius is always very kind to me and this visit was no exception except that no way was he coming near my ears with that pointy thing! Oh no, no way Jose! So he said that he would have to sedate me to have a good old look around and that I was to go in the next morning. So at 8.30am dad dropped me off there and waited for the call to go collect me.

Mum was really worried and couldn't wait to get me. She was to come after 3pm and she arrived on time. I was fine by time she got there and the lovely nurse was sad to see me go home as she said I was a perfect patient. Pah, I just wanted to get home to my bed, my sofa and my mum and dads bed. Boy did it feel good to get home and have some food. I was starved from midnight the night before and I could have eaten a scabby horse. I was given freshly cooked chicken and some nice fresh water. Cliffys mum had sent some lovely chews home with dad and I was given one ot those too. Thanks Cliffy!

It seems there wasn't anything in my ear other than an infection starting up. With my big floppy ears it keeps the insides of my ears very warm and that's just perfect for brewing up infections. So I am having ear drops twice a day and I hate having them. Dad chases me all over the house as I am getting wise to how they both approach me now....it's nearly always one arm behind their backs holding the drops and one ready to grab me. I ain't silly and run as fast as I can! So I have to go back on Saturday to see Julius and make sure everything is OK.

I hope I will be OK as mum and dad are babysitting Bailey for a few days....I'll have to be better so I can defend my bones!

Big Brother

I don't know about you dogs over here in the UK but the last series of Big Brother took over the TV in my house. Dad couldn't stand it, the son adored it and well, mum just watched it every second that she could.

So now the latest series has hit our screens! Mum however swore never to watch it again as she was fed up with herself for watching so much of it. BUT........it would seem that one of the ladies who walks her dogs with us knows the lady whos son is one of the contestants! Yep, it's Ziggy. Now as I say, mum has not been watching it so she wasn't too worried to hear about this Ziggy guy but I am and wanted to let you all know about him.

Here is the website to go and read about him and see his photo....damm handsome looking guy if you ask me and I don't understand why mum isn't looking. I think mum may posibly be hiding the fact she is really watching when everyone has gone to bed.

What do you think?

Mr friend Boo!

Today I want to tell you about my friend called Boo (no not that one!) who I adore! Boo is a 2 year old Samoyed and he is just like a big fluffy ball of cotton wool. He has sooooo much hair and to make matters worse it's white....well some times it's white. He likes to come in the brook and paddle or swim with me you see and always comes out a delicate shade of blurrgh (green) much to his mums horror!

Now Boo has a terrible fetish for all things knitted and just loves hats, gloves, scarves, jumpers, etc and will go to the end of the earth just to get them. Most of our fellow dog walkers have been near strangled by Boo in the winter months as he grabs the end of our scarves and tries to run of with it. Gloves are ripped off their hands too as he tries to make a tasty meal from a mitten. In the colder months everyone tends to walk with gloves on and then put their hands in their pockets if Boo is about....can't think why!

In this picture you can see Boo and me kissing! Yep kissing!!! We just love each other so much that we can't bear to be parted. In this photo we were at the end of a walk and were about to be put in the cars when we just had to kiss and say goodbye (cue song!) till the next morning. How cute is that!

I love Boo!

I'm tagged eh!

OK Simba....you wanted an unusual photo did you?

This one was taken about 11 months ago not long after I arrived at my lovely forever home!

I used to sit at the top of the stairs waiting for dad to come home or just so that I could see what was going on all over the house. I am a nosey dog you know and from up there I was nearly King (just like Simba!) of the house. This day I had decided that I would lay on the stairs waiting for dad to come home and mum was so amused she got the camera and took this photo!

They have still not decorated the hall yet nor put carpet down as mum can't find what she likes...women eh! I did try to help mum wallpaper the hall by pulling some paper off...she wasn't too pleased though and now can't find that same expensive paper to match and put back up. She really wasn't too pleased with me!

We are back.....hurray!!!

Well, I am finally allowed back on here again!

My mum has been doing all sorts of stuff and is now finally back in the land of the living, she just can't say "no" to anything you know. Mum has been organising yet another Charity Ball and seeing as the Ball took place last weekend she can finally relax for a while. I have to report that next years Ball is already being planned. Is this woman mad or what!? It was worth it as so far to date over £8,000 has been raised and there is still more money trickling in so yes it was worth it!! The Charity was Marie Curie Cancer Care as mum wanted to help give back what MCCC gave to her mum when she was cared for in one of their hospices.

I got taken to school recently. I really enjoyed being in there too with all the toys although none of them wanted to play with me. Look at this rug I tried getting to understand things from my point of view. It gave up and just laid there letting me roll all over it!

Then I had a wonderful time going round looking at all the toys and wondering what went on at a school. Seems to me there is some really cool stuff going on.

Doors to the outside eh! OK, lemmie out and lemmie play......

These two photos are for my pal Jackson! Look what I found so decided to pose with them just for you!

Sunday was my Adoption day!

Sunday 13th May was my adoption day!

I have been here in this lovely house for one very happy year. The Mayhew was a great place, don't get me wrong but here is much nicer.

It was a bit odd when I first met my new family and I was a bit scared about them perhaps not loving me or being horrible to me. I had been in a house where the last family didn't have the time to care for me properly or give me lots of cuddles and walks. So I was worried this family might be the same or worse if that was possible!

No need to worry! The new family were just so kind and took me on some fantastic walks the first weekend here. We went to Trent Park, Regents Park and round the local streets so I could get used to them.

I have had a wonderful year and just wanted to share this with all my friends!

I've been to visit the vet today!

Well it's that time of the year when a dog has to go and say hello to the man in the green jacket for his vaccinations! My silly mum had forgotten they were due and it wasn't until she got a letter from the vet reminding her about them that she went into panic. I didn't realise where we were going but knew it was somewhere I hadn't been for a long long time. The last time was when I had my little operation back in June of 2006. I had a little lump come up on my head and mum was really worried. It was removed and I was fine!

The nice man in the green jacket came out to say hello and make a fuss of me. I remember this guy from before and have to say, he is an alright guy as far as vets go! How many of you remember the thermometer at each visit to the vets? Yeah, so you know what I mean! Thankfully I was only having my vaccinations.

I got weighed and have put on 5lb since my last visit about 10 months ago. It's all those treats I get eh....I hope they don't stop giving me them! Julius also listened to my heart, looked in my ears, made sure my microchip was still where it should be and generally gave me the once over. Of course Julius told mum I was fighting fit and a lovely dog....I could have told them that. Now where's the treat for being good???

On the way out my other new best buddie Danny was there waiting to give me some attention and cuddles while mum paid the bill. I loved that! I had such a nice time that I want to go back again......the biscuits were lovely!

I went to a party yesterday!

I went to the party yesterday and had a chat with one or two other doggies who were there at the same time as me. I did pop in and out a few times to say hello to my doggie friends.

Hope you all had a great time!!

I can't see the sea....

How long is it since my mum let me come in here and update my blog???? Far too long in fact and my doggie friends have had to have a word with mum tonight up the park and tell her off. "Go home now and let Loui update it" they told her. Well, I made out I wasn't taking any notice of what they all said but I was glad they did tell her off. It would seem my public are missing me and my tales.

So, Minnis Bay! Seeing as it was half term about 2 weeks ago mum, dad, the son and little old me all went off for a day out by the sea. Dad as normal put his shorts on and was all prepared for a hot day. He insisted that the son wore his shorts too. Mum, well mum being the old salty sea dog that she is knew that as we were going to be by the coast it would be a little cooler and wore a cardigan and combats. She ain't silly y'know!

So set the sat nav and off we went. When we finally found the place mum had read about we all laughed out loudly. FOG! As you can see the beach was only just in sight and the sea, well, we couldn't see the sea! It was a little eerie not being able to see land nor the sea when on the beach...,mum found it really weird indeed.

I tried to play but couldn't find the tennis balls dad was throwing for me. I was quite amused watching him run and find the balls. I must remember that the next time I'm bored!

Minnis Bay is in Kent. It's not that far really from Dover with it's white chalk cliffs, so there was lots of chalk on the beach and being the daring doggie that I am I thought I best leave my mark. I found a big chunk of chalk and wrote my name on the sea wall! How daring was that!!! Mum said I was a hooligan and must stop it right away.......
